Yesterday, on July 1st, I had the absolute honor of painting a love story as it unfolded in real time at Celebrations at the Bay, a beautiful waterfront venue tucked away in Pasadena, Maryland. With the Chesapeake Bay sparkling in the background and a breeze that made the ceremony feel even more magical, Eryn and Justin’s wedding was one of those heartfelt days that will long be lingering in my mind—in the best way. I am truly feeling so all around grateful for this wedding and this couple that I really wanted to write this post immediately while I was still feeling all the feels.
The bride, Eryn, surprised her groom with a live wedding painting, making my presence so much fun. I was touched to be part of such a thoughtful gesture, and even more delighted when she shared her love for Impressionist art—especially the works of Monet. She told me she was drawn to my painting style because it felt truly like art, soft, expressive, and timeless. This was the biggest compliment and entirely how I would like my art to be perceived.
The ceremony was intimate and sweet, yet the atmosphere throughout the day was relaxed and full of fun, from the laughter with their closest friends to the salsa dancing after a yummy dinner. It was the kind of wedding that didn’t chase perfection, but lived fully in the joy of the moment and that’s exactly what I love to capture with paint.
As a live wedding painter from North Carolina with family in Baltimore, I serve couples across Maryland, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia who are looking for a keepsake that goes beyond photos. Each brushstroke tells a story—not just of how it looked, but of how it felt. This has quickly become my favorite region to paint in, it’s not too far from home and there is just so much to offer!
