Finished guest portraits from the studio

Amanda and Joel's wedding in Fort Wayne, Indiana was such a fun celebration with a large guest list. To provide a personalized and memorable keepsake for their guests, the couple decided to offer watercolor guest portraits. Despite the large number of attendees, we were able to create unique and beautiful portraits for each guest.

The Challenge of a Large Guest List

Painting watercolor portraits for a large guest list can be a daunting task. However, with the help of a brilliant assistant, careful planning and efficient workflow, it is possible to create high-quality portraits for everyone. We developed a system that allowed us to quickly capture each guest's likeness and begin painting immediately. My assistant took photos and kept me organized while I painted away!

The Benefits of Watercolor Guest Portraits

Watercolor portraits offer several advantages over other types of guest portraits. The soft, ethereal tones of watercolor create a timeless and elegant look. Additionally, watercolor is a relatively quick medium, allowing us to complete each portrait in a timely manner and for the paintings to be dry within minutes so the guests could take them home.

A Personalized Touch for Every Guest

Despite the large number of guests, we were able to create personalized portraits for everyone - any that were not finished onsite were taken back to my studio and mailed to Amanda and Joel within weeks. They were then able to send out the paintings with their thank-you cards. They had about 250 guests and I was able to finish over half at the wedding.

A Memorable Keepsake

Guests were thrilled to receive their watercolor portraits as a reminder of the special day. These personalized keepsakes were a unique and meaningful way for guests to remember Amanda and Joel's wedding. Painting watercolor guest portraits for a large guest list can be a challenging but rewarding experience. With careful planning and efficient workflow, it is possible to create beautiful and personalized portraits for everyone. Amanda and Joel's wedding was a testament to the power of watercolor guest portraits to create lasting memories for both the couple and their guests.
